Up against a formidable Italian Culinary team, Jim Butchart along with other US Culinary teams, finished in a three-way tie at the “Rockin’ the Runway Fashion and Culinary Challenge” during America’s Polo Cup . No doubt, a hard decision for Chef Patrick O’Connell. One thing for sure, Jim’s “Braised Pork Belly on a Buttermilk Biscuit with a Pickled Ramp Slaw” was a huge hit with the well over 300 attendees.
The preparation of Jim’s local cuisine also helped him gain a little national attention. Jim was interviewed by Television Personality, Paul Wharton – as seen on MTV, VH1, CW and BET. Look for his interview, featured on the CW channel, this coming weekend.
All the culinary masterpieces were a perfect compliment to the event’s other displays; including a dazzling parachuting exhibition, a fashion show, a live performance by the Gypsy Kings and a special appearance from the famed Delorian from Back to the Future.
We’re also happy to report that the USA Cartier Polo Team has taken back the Land Rover America’s Polo Cup with a final score of 6 – 2 over rivals, Italy. Congratulations to the players of the USA Polo Team.
