Corie Lynch, The Greenbrier Sporting Club’s winter intern, presents the fourth installment of her series of “Reasons I Love The Greenbrier…And So Should You.”

The activities at The Greenbrier are exciting because they are likely something the majority of us don’t do on a regular basis in our non-vacationing lives. Kayaking, rock climbing, fly-fishing, off road driving, and horseback riding are just some of the many outdoor activities available to members. But what does one do at night when all the kids are (supposed to be) fast asleep in their rooms? The solution is now obvious with The Tavern Casino, currently open, and The Casino at The Greenbrier almost ready to open its doors in Spring 2010. Now, there’s always a slew of leisure activities for those that would prefer to take it slow instead of getting caught up in all the excitement of gaming at The Greenbrier, but for everyone else the new entertainment complex at The Greenbrier will open a whole new world of possibilities – dining, live entertainment, and even more retail shopping. Observing the construction progress of the facility has been entertainment in itself.
Here are some pictures of the entire process – from the groundbreaking ceremony to the sealing of the roof on the underground building. Enjoy the pictures and remember – you only have a few more months to perfect your blackjack game!
