7 – 11:00 pm ~ Moonshine Express Band ~ Memorial Field – Free show, but donations accepted during the show by 4th of July Committee Members ~ Come and enjoy ~ Rain or Shine


* * * Friday, July 4 * * *
10:30 am ~ 2008 Grand Parade ~ Queens, Floats, Cars, Bicycles, Tractors, Horses, Fire Engines & EMS. Something for everyone.
1:00 pm ~ Presentation of Colors ~ Introducing Miss Fireworks and her court, Sr. Miss Fireworks, Junior Miss Fireworks, Little Miss Fireworks, little Mr. & Mrs. Sparkler and Baby Sparklers
7:30 pm ~ 9:30pm - Groove Train Band ~ Alderson Memorial Field ~ $5.00 admission for show and fireworks ~ Children 6 and under free ~ Bring your own chair ~ Rain or Shine
9:30 pm ~ Introduction and Crowning of Miss Fireworks 2008 and her court
10:00 pm ~ Grand Fireworks Display ~ The Alderson Fire Department will put on the best show around featuring marvelous aerial and ground displays

8:00 pm ~ 12:00 pm - Buddy Allen And The Cheat River Band ~ Music on Memorial Field ~ Free Show ~ Come and Enjoy ~ Rain or Shine (Concessions and Duck Tickets On Sale)

11:00 am ~ Sunday Worship – Alderson Area Churches cordially invite you to attend the church of your choice
12:00 pm ~ White Water Canoe Race – Fort Spring. Registration starts at noon and the race starts at 1:00 pm ~ A timed event on the Greenbrier River, total distance 7 miles – Men, Women and Kayak Divisions (Contact Mike Hanna 304-536-4469)
1:00 pm ~ River Events – Enjoy an afternoon of fun in the cool, green waters of the Greenbrier River at the Alderson Mini park – Bring a seat and enjoy! . . . . Men and Women Kayak Races and Anything That Floats Race!
6:30 ~ 9:30 pm – Old-Fashioned Gospel Sing – Memorial Field – Featuring The Kingsmen and Cody & Eva McVey – Free Show, donations accepted . . . Bring your own chair – Rain or Shine
10:00 pm ~ Fireworks after Gospel Sing on the field only – Aerial and ground displays Concessions and Duck Tickets On Sale


* * * Monday, July 7 * * *
6:00 pm ~ Ducks on the Greenbrier – Rubber Ducky Race at the Alderson Mini Park – Grand Prize $5,000, Second Prize $1,000, Third prize $500 and many other prizes.
