Celebrate the Season with The Greenbrier’s Holiday Shopping and Spa Weekend

Celebrate the joys of the season with The Greenbrier’s Holiday Shopping and Spa Weekend, December 12-14, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Throughout the weekend, guests can visit the resort’s exclusive shops, enjoy a delectable lunch buffet in the Main Dining Room, pamper themselves with treatments in the award-winning Greenbrier Spa and have a holiday photograph taken in the beautifully decorated Upper Lobby. On Saturday, guests are also invited to view displays created by junior and senior members of The Greenbrier Culinary Apprenticeship Program.

With over 30 stores, shopping at The Greenbrier is a delight all its own with a variety of clothing, gifts and accessories including The Greenbrier Shoppe and Newsstand, Carleton Varney Gift Gallery, Polo Ralph Lauren, The Greenbrier Gourmet Shop, The Candy Maker and many others. The Art Colony on Alabama Row, open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., offers a collection of shops with unique handcrafted items and exceptional pieces of original art. Christie’s Signature Art, featuring paintings by renowned local artist Michael Christie, and Pinnacle Gallery, owned by Master Potter Gary Roper, are the newest additions to the Art Colony. The Christmas Shop at the Depot, the resort’s year-round holiday wonderland, offers gifts and decorations and is located across from the main entrance.

For lunch, guests can avail of The Greenbrier’s Main Dining Room lunch buffet from 12:00 –2:00 p.m. The cost for the scrumptious buffet is $27.50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Guests can also enjoy Draper’s Café, with an a la carte lunch and dessert menu, and The Greenbrier Gourmet Shop, with Starbucks coffee and snacks.

In addition to shopping and dining, guests can treat themselves to a service at The Greenbrier Spa. For the holidays, the spa is offering an Apple Cinnamon Sugar and Salt Body Scrub with Petite Massage and Apple Cinnamon Manicure or Pedicure as well as a Spicy Cranberry Spicy Cranberry Sugar and Salt Body Scrub with Petite Massage and Spicy Cranberry Manicure or Pedicure. The Mobil Four-Star spa also features a variety of treatments including massage, body fusions, facials, manicures and pedicures. Three outstanding culinarians will graduate from The Greenbrier’s renowned Culinary Apprenticeship program this weekend. This year’s graduates are Brendan Arenth and Seth Shipley, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and John Ferguson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They join over 300 others as graduates of this prestigious program. On Saturday, their cold food displays will be open for viewing from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Crystal Room. Junior and senior apprentices will create a themed menu, including an ice carving.

On Saturday and Sunday, Greenbrier Photography will be taking individual, couple, family and group photos in the Upper Lobby from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. With The Greenbrier’s magnificent holiday décor as a background, these are sure to become cherished holiday mementos for years to come. Complimentary gift wrapping and valet parking will also be available.
