Jim Waive combines his no-pick, percussive style on guitar with some of the most compelling lyrics in honky tonk. His smoky voice delivers songs laden with fervor and heart. You can catch a glimpse of his Tidewater roots in the fire and brimstone melodies. This band is a true country band that supports one another like a family should (without the dysfunction). Their beauty is subtle and very real. All four are good musicians who carry on the American tradition of honky tonkin’, beer drinkin’, heart breakin’ music with a down-home authenticity.

Imagine blending the best of the sounds of Julie London, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, and Norah Jones. That’s how Jennifer Kirkland’s voice has been described by one listener. A graduate of the Indiana University School of Music, Jennifer has been performing professionally as a vocalist and keyboard player in a variety of settings and styles since the late 1970s. Since 2002, Jennifer has turned her focus back to performing jazz, pop, and blues vocals. In 2004, she released her first jazz CD, You Must Believe in Spring.

The opening of the highly anticipated Casino Club at The Greenbrier will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime event as guests walk the red carpet to a black tie dinner. An intimate concert with the legendary Lionel Richie sets the stage for the dazzling evening ahead. A call to trumpets herald the official ribbon cutting ceremony, and then, the games will begin.

This grand opening package also includes $300 in match game vouchers per person and commemorative gift. The grand opening event only rate, which does not include overnight accommodations, is $850 per person. Known as America’s Resort, the luxurious Greenbrier has hosted celebrities, royalty and world leaders for more than two centuries. Today’s announcement is the latest in a string that have made the resort even more accessible to national and international guests. On June 10, 2010, The Greenbrier celebrated the inauguration of daily, direct flights from New York LaGuardia and Atlanta Hartsfield airports on Delta Air Lines. Just last week, The Greenbrier announced a strategic partnership with Keeneland, one of the world’s most prestigious Thoroughbred racetracks and the world’s largest Thoroughbred auction company.

Daily, nonstop air service to Greenbrier Valley Airport from Atlanta and New York’s LaGuardia takes off today, launching year-round flights from two of the nation’s largest cities to The Greenbrier on Delta Air Lines. Jim Justice, chairman and owner of The Greenbrier, Governor Joe Manchin III, Senator Jesse Guills and Betty Crookshanks, president of the Greenbrier County Commission along with numerous local business and political leaders were present at the airport to celebrate the first flight and welcome passengers. Justice was instrumental in bringing the flights to Greenbrier Valley to facilitate travel to the luxury resort and to support the region’s economic growth.

The Greenbrier Classic, sure to be the most exciting event on this year’s PGA TOUR is now even more incredible. Country music icon Reba will perform on Wednesday, July 28th and the award-winning Rascal Flatts will perform on Thursday, July 29th as part of the inaugural Greenbrier Classic. On Saturday, July 31st, superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will take the stage for another incredible evening. These legendary musicians will perform in a private concert for Classic attendees and participants, as access to the concert is included with the purchase of a weekly badge. A new outdoor amphitheater is currently under construction at the State Fair of West Virginia and will be the setting for both tournament concerts.
