DPS sponsored the inaugural Best Buddies Hamptons Beach Bash at the home of Anne Hearst and Jay McInerney (TCSC Members) in Watermill, NY on Thursday, August 14th. Founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies is a vibrant, international organization that has grown from one original chapter to more than 1,400 middle school, high school, and college campuses worldwide. Best Buddies now operates accredited programs in 40 countries worldwide. As a result of their involvement with Best Buddies, people with intellectual disabilities secure rewarding jobs, live on their own, and make lifelong friendships.
Best Buddies co-hosts, Tatiana Platt and Campion Platt, welcomed DPS to a spectacular gala with an evening featuring the festive Brazilian, summer theme, “When in Rio…” DPS was invited to host a table of 10 guests for the seated dinner under the stars, which ended with a live auction and a musical presentation by Latin performers Ritmo.
A “Safari Experience” visit to Turks & Caicos Sporting Club was auctioned as one of the premiere lot packages for $6,000. DPS also had a display set with brochures and a beautiful image of the airstrip at Turks & Caicos Sporting Club. All guests of the evening left with a gift bag complete with sponsor information and a multi-property brochure from DPS. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Best Buddies in October when DPS joins in as a sponsor of the Grand Finale Ball in Washington, D.C.!
